Condolence: To the Family and friends of Richard, may you find a measure of comfort in the Bible's promise at Revelation 21:3,4. God promises a time when sickness and death will no longer exist, and a time when we will be reunited with the loved ones we have lost in death (John 5:28,29). As you reflect on the life and memories of Richard, may those fond memories help you to cope during your most difficult moments. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Condolence: Donna, I'm assuming you are the Donna that I knew many years ago. I was so sorry to read that Dick had passed away. I don't know if you remember me. We used to teach together at the Franklin Elementary school in Provo. I remember that we would often go golfing after school and of course you would beat me. After living away from Utah for many years, we moved back to Riverton, Utah 17 years ago. Love and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Condolence: To Coach Dick Hill and family:

Let me start by expressing my heartfelt condolences to Coach Hill's wife Donna and family, with the passing of your beloved husband and father. Coach Hill meant the world to me as a young man, and was one of the most inspiring and memorable men in my entire life. I thank God for having him as my coach and mentor while being a "Provo Bulldog".

In 1955, one year after Coach Hill became the head Football coach, at the old Provo High School located downtown, he wrote the following in my yearbook: "Well Captain, let's see what we can do with the football team next year. I couldn't have a better captain to help me to lead the team. I will keep in touch with you this summer so we can work out a schedule for our team. Have fun this summer."

The next year (1956), Coach Hill working his second year as a gridiron coach for P.H.S., instilled within our team a spirit of determination that led our team to the Region 3 Football Championship. This allowed our school to go to the state semi-finals for the first time in many years, but we were defeated by a lucky Murray High School team. We played our final game in a rainstorm with two inches of mud in the middle of the Murray playing field. Coach Hill was so disappointed we could've played on a sunny day.

Many thanks, Coach Hill for teaching me not only how to be a successful football quarterback but for providing me with so many wonderful memories and a desire to be just like you in so many ways.

Condolence: One of the most exciting and memorable moments of my career as a wrestler at Provo High was when, feeling exhausted in the middle of a tough match, I heard Coach Hill on the sideline loudly cheering me on. I was ready to give up, but when he encouraged me by name (I had never even imagined that he would know my name; he wasn't the wrestling coach, but he was sitting by Coach Martinez), I got fresh energy and went on to win. Thanks, coach!
