Mom was born on April 26, 1927 in Rayville, Louisiana to Mac and Myrtis Hodges Brown. She married her sweetheart George B. Scroggins on October 6, 1943 in Rayville, Louisiana, they were faithful for 66 years until Dad passed away in 2009. Dad was in the oilfield as a roughneck, Driller, Tool pusher, and retired as a Safety Man. Mom and Dad went with the oil boom to Wyoming and ended up in Andrews in 1952. They raised four kids, Billie, George, Glenda, and Jerri. They loved us and seven grandkids, six great grandkids and five great great grandkids. Mom enjoyed numerous friends. She was an excellent artist and loved painting china. She was a seamstress, she loved music, people, pets, family and travelling. Mom was a beautiful gardener and raised roses. She was a member of the Permian Regional Medical Center hospital auxiliary and supported her husband and children in their endeavors. Through hard times and good times Mom was always there for us, she was a caring nurturing housewife devoted to her husband and family. Mom taught us good and bad, through gentleness and firmness. We were taught love, kindness, caring, and respect for others, manners and family came first. We hope to be close to what Mom and Dad taught and set examples for us to be. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, three brothers, Jesse Brown, Oliver Brown, and Steve Brown, one sister Lessie Parker, and son in law Tommy Parrish
She is survived by three daughters, Billie Parrish of Andrews, Glenda Scroggins of Odessa, Jerri Scroggins of Andrews, one son George and wife Kay Scroggins of Odessa; one sister, Ruth Powell of Odessa; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
