Obituary for Margaret Patricia Jura (Kane)

Pat Jura passed gently away at her home with family by her side. Born in Greenwich Hospital on May 27, 1928, she was a lifelong Greenwich resident, attended St Mary Elementary School on Greenwich Ave., and graduated from Greenwich High School when it was located at the present Town Hall offices. After high school, Pat completed secretarial school and stayed employed through her lifetime in local law offices and small businesses as a secretary and bookkeeper. Married in St Mary Church on 6/10/1950 to Walter H. Jura for 56 years – who predeceased her in 2006
She was the daughter of Thomas Kane and Catherine Barrett. Her three sisters, Mary Russell, Kathleen Gospodinoff, and Penelope MacDonald, all also life long Greenwich residents, predeceased her.
Patsy was a lifelong member of St Mary Parish and past member of the Greenwich Choral Society. In this complicated world, Pat remained true to her mantras of living the golden rule, being thankful for your blessings and always remaining hopeful. Family, friends and all who came in contact with her benefited from her wonderful spirit
Pat is survived by her 4 children: Mary Jura of Greenwich, Helen Dohm of Downingtown, PA., Walter Jura of York PA., and Thomas Jura of Sandy Hook CT, along with their partners Michael Meyers, Peter Dohm, Roseann Jura, and Kathleen Y Jura. Pat also had 7 grandchildren: Patrick, Benjamin, Daniel, Jason, Brian, Regan, and Ryan along with 4 great grandchildren, Henry, Linus, Merrick, and Anniston, many loving and caring nieces and nephews, and her dear brother in law Archie Russell.

Family and friends may pay their respect on Saturday, Dec 30 from 11am to 1pm at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd #3, Greenwich Ct 06830. In lieu of flowers, you are encouraged to make a donation to GEMS (Greenwich Emergency Medical Service) in Pat’s memory
