Life Story for Robert J. Brown

Robert J.  Brown
Robert "Bob" Joseph Brown, age 85, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover. Born February 23, 1932 in North Vernon, Indiana, he was the son of Chester and Catherine (Bott) Brown.

Mr. Brown was a 1950 graduate of North Vernon High School, and attended Purdue, Pitt, Tulane and the University of Louisville, where he earned his law degree. He worked for forty-seven years as an attorney in his law firm, Robert J. Brown, Attorney-at-Law in North Vernon before retiring in 2010. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. He lived all of his life in North Vernon until two years ago.

He was a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Eagles Lodge and Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon. He enjoyed traveling and going to horse racing tracks.

Mr. Brown will be sadly missed by five daughters: LuAnn Mathes of Hanover, Pam Brown of North Vernon, Nancy Anker-Wright and her husband, Dustin of West Lafayette, Indiana, Barb Corns and Brenda Brown, both of Lafayette, Indiana; one brother, Tim Brown and his wife, Tammy of North Vernon, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Juli Gunther; one brother, David Brown; one sister, Susie Brown; one grandson, Tony Larkins, and his former wife, Mary Jean Peterson.

At his request, no services will be held.
