Obituary for Henry Harold Hendrix
Henry “Harold” Hendrix, 80, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
He was born on February 22, 1937 to Henry and Gracie (Layton) Hendrix.
He graduated from Calico Rock High School in 1954. Henry “Harold” served in the Army from October 1956 to November 1957. He retired from the US Postal Service in Topeka in 1997.
Harold married Mary JoAn Houpt March 15, 1959.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Dr. Henry H. “Butch” Hendrix Jr. and one sister, Bethel Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, JoAn, daughter, Connie Ellis, Bartlesville, Ok and daughter, Linda Hendrix (Bruce Loder) San Antonio, Texas, daughter-in-law Becky Hendrix, four sister’s Erelene Davis, Ardean McDowell, LaNelle Allen, Armilda Tyree and one brother, Noel Hendrix and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Meals on Wheels 717 North 10th Abilene, Texas 79601 or Second Baptist Church, 901 Victoria Street Abilene, Texas 79603.
