Obituary for Pearl Larrayne Jackson

Pearl Larrayne Jackson
Pearl Jackson was surrounded by her devoted children as she went to her heavenly home, after an untimely heart attack on December 27th, 2017. Pearl was born in Wagner, Montana on September 10, 1924, to Lillie (Jones) and Clifford Main and was one of 12 children.

She graduated from Harlem High School in 1942. Pearl is survived by one sister, Edith Phillips and sister in law, Estella Main.

Three husbands preceded her in death; Albert J. Benner, Lynn S. Brown, and Donald (Buzz) Jackson.

Pearl lived 93 glorious years and her greatest treasures were her 8 children: Sharon Adamson (Jack), Alberta Nebel, (Ron), Dick Benner, Jim Benner (Elaine), Mary Benner Aaronson (Allen-deceased) , Gary Benner (Kim), Rod Benner (Sherry), and Bruce Brown (Suzanne).

She cherished her 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. Her precious daughter, Alberta (Bertie), preceded her in death and was there to greet her mom with loving arms.

Pearl led a wonderful and very productive life. She managed the St. Regis Gift Shop for 25+ years, which blessed her family greatly, and everyone who passed through the shop.

Pearl is remembered as a classy lady, with matching earrings and always wearing lipstick and a smile! She was a woman of great faith and the heart of our family. She shaped our spirituality by her tireless Christian example, many prayers, and her optimism for our complete success. We believed we could accomplish anything because she believed in us. It was a precious heritage Mom instilled in us all and we passed it on to our children as well. Such a gift, not every family has the privilege to experience.

Pearl had such a wonderful sense of humor. Her most favorite saying was “forgiveness is easier than permission.” But in truth, she herself walked in forgiveness, mercy and love. She made everyone feel like a million bucks and that they were special to her. She never met a stranger and always loved a good conversation. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, gardening, and enjoyed the monthly luncheons with the local red hatters. Pearl passionately loved the people at the Polson Community Church, where she attended faithfully. They will greatly miss her at St Joseph’s Hospital gift shop where she volunteered weekly for the past 14 years.

She was a wonderful mother who just wanted us to love God and each other. She succeeded. The angels in heaven are rejoicing. Fly momma fly. See you at the Heaven’s gate.

Her celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Polson Community Church, 1814 First St. East, Polson, Montana. Pastors Russ Barber and her son, Rod Benner will be officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. at St. Regis Cemetery.
