Obituary for Darlene Marie Hansen

Darlene Marie Hansen
Darlene Marie Hansen, 68, of Tampa, Florida passed away at the Florida Hospital on December 26, 2017.

She was born on May 12, 1949 in Rome, New York, daughter of Marie and James Novak. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie and her father, James.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Hansen; sisters, MaryLou McKinnon (Ken) and Nancy Novak and brother, Paul Novak. She is also survived by her nieces Michelle and Sadie; grandnephew William, and grandnieces, Alexandrea and Aniaya.

Darlene was a strong and wonderful person who cared deeply for her family. She was the kind of person everyone liked as soon as they met her. She enjoyed long walks, a great mystery book and most of all, the love of her husband, Tom.

Darlene began her career working for Rome State School for 13 years. She also held administrative positions with Bay Area Youth Services, the Department of Health & Rehabilitation and the Human Development Center. Throughout her career she was dedicated to working in a non-profit environment where her skills contributed to helping those less fortunate.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Adams & Jennings Funeral Home, 6000 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, Florida 33604.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (https://ww5.komen.org). It was Darlene’s favorite charity.
