The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John DeWitt can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Raffaella Selvaggio
Condolence: Jack was my old neighbor who I adored and looked up too. He was someone who I truly had the upmost respect for. Not only was he funny, extremely talented with his green thumb, amazingly gifted when he re-constructed his home, but all in all a good soul. He was a man of his word and loved his family with no limits. He loved my children and always gushed over them when he saw them. They still have a rock from his garden that he gave them. Jack even made homemade pizza on his BBQ for my son's birthday one year. Everyone was floored because it was the BEST PIZZA EVER! I will never forget all the wonderful things he has done for me and my family. I can't imagine Hayward Place with out Jack. He will be missed in so many different ways, especially by me. R.I.P my dear friend. I know you are in good hands. Raffaella Selvaggio

Condolence From: Emily DeWitt
Condolence: We are so sad about the passing of our beloved father, father-in-law and grandfather and wish him the peace and rest that he deserves. We look forward to celebrating his life amongst family and friends and hope everyone enjoys the candid photos we've shared of some of our happiest memories with Jack in our hometown of Marblehead, MA. What we love to remember most is his love and dedication to his family, food, old movies, gardening and his sense of humor and intelligence. I will never forget how he helped me with newborn Christopher by just holding him for hours on end so that I could get some much needed rest. He also lovingly wallpapered his nursery by hand (and probably cursed me for choosing to wallpaper in the first place!) but never complained. His dedication and loyalty to his family is truly inspiring and I am so grateful for it. Love, Emily
