Obituary for Julius Rodek

Julius   Rodek
Julius G. Rodek, 86, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Centra State Medical in Freehold, New Jersey.

Mr. Rodek was born June 12, 1931 in Lackawanna, New York to the late Joseph and Caroline (Bolla) Rodek. He was a lifelong resident of Somerset.

Julius served in the Army during Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 having attained the rank of CPL. He was a tool and die maker for General Motors in Linden, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 9111 in Franklin Park, the Franklin Township Seniors and the German American Club in Yardville, NJ.

Julius was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved traveling with his family, hanging with his buddies on Thursday nights and going out dancing with his wife. Most all, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela (December) Rodek of Somerset, NJ; his sons, Paul Rodek and his wife Gina of East Brunswick and Robert Rodek of Hopatcong; his daughter, Patricia Lefebvre and her husband James of Jackson, NJ; his brother, Joseph Rodek and his wife Elvira of Somerset, NJ; his five grandchildren, Michael, Kathleen, Marisa, Madison and Taylor.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 4th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 5th at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Peace in North Brunswick. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery in North Brunswick.
