Obituary for Abdul-Rahman Shabazz

Bro. Abdul passed peacefully from this life on January 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving, devoted wife and sons. He was born on June 8, 1946, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a 1965 high school graduate and graduated from the School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. He served in the United States Army 82nd 101st Airborne as a paratrooper and was a Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lethia Tucker-Burrows; his father, Robert L. Small; one sister, Khalilah “Bunny” Muhammad and a brother, Tony Shabazz.

Bro. Abdul leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Abbie Alexander Shabazz of Greenville; one daughter, Brittany Small of San Diego, CA; five sons, Terrell Small, Charles Lampley, and Quinton Lampley, all of Greenville and David Small and Shadeed Shabazz, both of West Palm Beach, FL; one granddaughter who was the apple of his eye, Jaliyah Siles; one brother, Ky Brackett of Las Vegas, NV; a goddaughter, Samantha Newby; a special brother, Ray (Nora) Alexander of West Palm Beach, FL; one sister-in-law, Erica (Woodrow) Matthews of Jackson, LA; a godbrother, Ted Martin of West Palm Beach, FL; a special niece, Khalilah Muhammad Powell of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
