Obituary for Michael Terry Roberts
Sparta - Michael Terry Roberts, age 63 of Sparta, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital. Born Friday, December 31, 1954 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late James Roberts and Jeane Lyles Roberts. Terry was a loving guy with big smile and a kind heart. He loved coaching sports and working with young people. He loved playing Santa Claus for children at local schools and adults at the nursing home.
Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with James Dukes officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
Surviving family members include:
mother - Jeane Roberts of Sparta
sister - Wanda Barnes of Sparta
neice - Marie Amsdill and Tim of North Carolina
nephews - Cason Barnes and Pamela of Maryland
Ryan Barnes of Cookeville
Several great neices and great nephews also survive.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, James Roberts and a brother, Danny Roberts.
