Obituary for Shane Alan Kluttz

Shane Alan Kluttz
Mr. Shane Alan Kluttz, age 35 passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 after a short illness at Duke University Hospital with his family by his side.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at First Assembly Worship Center-Concord, where Shane had been a life-long member. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2 pm Sunday, January 7, also at First Assembly with Pastor Brad Hargett officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Shane was born October 19, 1982 in Mecklenburg County. He was the son of Tim Alan and Robin Kirkman Kluttz of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doug and Minnie Kirkman and Don and Jeanie Kluttz.

Shane was self-employed in the construction industry. He enjoyed being outdoors riding his 4-wheeler, going boating, fishing, trips to the mountains and beach and sports in general. He truly loved being with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Shane had such a witty sense of humor, you couldn’t help but to laugh at him. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but our loss is a greater gain for heaven.

In addition to his parents, Tim and Robin, survivors include his sisters, Megan Kluttz Helms and husband, Jonathan of Rockwell, Stephanie Vinyard and husband, Cody of Locust and Katie Kluttz of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews, J.R., Amelia, Lydia and Eli Helms, Aidan, Mason and Emma Vinyard; aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to say THANK YOU all, for your prayers, calls, cards, well wishes, food and the little things. We want you to know it did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. Continue to keep our family in your prayers as we go through this difficult journey.

Memorials may be made in Shane’s memory to Duke Health in support of the Pulmonary Division Gift Fund 391-3865. Mail checks to Duke Health Development, ATTN: Morgan Pope, 710 W. Main Street, Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701, or you may make donations online at https://www.gifts.duke.edu/dukehealth.
