Obituary for Mary Ruth Ward
Mary Ruth Ward, 79, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed from this life January 6, 2018 in Springdale. She was born September 3, 1938, in Morrilton, Arkansas.
Mary spent many years as a resident of the San Fernando Valley in California, where she worked for International Telephone and Telegraph as a supervisor in the aerospace industry. Mary was well-liked by her co-workers and was recognized as a valuable employee on projects including development of naval radar. She made many happy memories traveling in California, with the Santa Monica Pier and Marina Del Ray being favorite spots.
Mary was an avid sports enthusiast, following baseball and football, especially her beloved L.A. Dodgers and the Los Angeles Raiders.
Mary retired to Arkansas in 1992. A life-long Catholic and member of St. Raphael’s Church in Springdale, she regularly served as usher at Mass.
Mary was predeceased by her mother, Leona Ernestine Sigler Perry, and sister, Dot Fuqua.
She is survived by her wife and partner of 47 years, Patricia Ann Biggs, of Springdale; her sister, Roberta Peters of Elm Springs; her brother, Robert Bryant of Goshen; several nieces and nephews, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
