Obituary for Robert A. Glidden Sr.
Robert (Bob) A. Glidden, Sr. 63 of Point Pleasant passed away on Sunday January 7, 2018. Robert was born and raised in New Providence, NJ and graduated from New Providence High School. He attended Brevard County Community College. He worked for Bitman Construction for several years before moving to Point Pleasant in 1983. He owned and operated a home improvement and aluminum siding business for many years and also was a bartender for several area bars but was mostly known for working at the Broadway Bar and Grill. Robert enjoyed surfing, fishing and playing softball. He was an annual attendee at the Kentucky Derby. He was an avid NY Giants, NY Yankees fan and loved the Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, The Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra music. Robert had a great sense of humor, great smile and was very proud of his son.
Robert is survived by his son and his wife Robert and Elyse Glidden, Jr. of California, MD and Robert Jr.’s mother and her husband Patricia Walker and Jeff Pecca of Neptune. He is also survived by a grandson Carmine Salvatore Glidden and many cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday January 12, 2018 from 11 am to 12:30 pm with a funeral service to begin at 12:15 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made by going to www.joandancyandpals.org. To send condolences to the family please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.com.
