Violet Bradley, 87, of Grayson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland. She was born June 6, 1930 in Grayson, a daughter of the late William Norman and Stella Myrtle Hutchinson Shaffer.

She was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Grayson where she was active serving on the bereavement committee and also teaching Sunday school. She was a very loving and caring mother and had previously worked at the Ashland Post Office as a clerk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bradley; a son, Lawrence Jr.; six brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Peggy) Bradley, Bill (Athena) Bradley both of Grayson; three daughters, Denise (Wayne) Thomas of Rush, Linda (John) Buck of Grayson, and Lori (Larris) Bush of Lexington; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grayson, Josh Schmidt, minister. Burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
