Obituary for Ruth Mary Gladfelter

Ruth Mary  Gladfelter
Ruth Mary Gladfelter, 93, of York and formerly of Everett, PA died peacefully, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Manor Care-Dallastown. Born in Everett on May 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Verna M. (Diehl) Morris. Ruth was the loving wife and best friend of Norman G. Gladfelter, Jr., they were married April 27, 1962.

Ruth was a graduate of Everett High School. As a young woman she worked in the Everett Bank. After moving to York County, she was an office clerk for many years for the former PADE Auto Auction in Strinestown. Ruth attended Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in York.

Ruth enjoyed singing and sewing. She was a member of the York Township Card Club, and enjoyed many games with her friends there. She and her husband Norman were avid travelers, and together got to see and experience much of the United States and the world.

In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her brother, Clyde R. Morris and his wife, Velma of Everett, her nephew, Kirt Morris of Everett, and her nieces, Lana Timmins and her husband, Robert of Pittsburg, and Jill M. Payne and her husband, Larry of Pittsburgh.

A funeral service for Ruth will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Pine Grove Road, York with Father Andrew Tsikitas officiating. Interment will follow in Everett Cemetery, East Main Street (Route 30), Everett on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
