Obituary for Leokadia Krzysik

Leokadia Krzysik
On January 10, 2018, Leokadia (Lily) Krzysik peacefully passed away at the age of 94 years. She will now reunite with her husband, the love of her life, Robert Krzysik (deceased June 28, 1995). Lily lived a full and beautiful life, mostly in Edmonton. Born in Smoligow, Poland, Lily served in the Polish Army in WWII after demonstrating two of her greatest attributes, determination and will, by surviving 2 years in a Siberian work camp. She married Robert after the war and came to Canada with their first child and very few possessions. Together they worked hard to raise a family of 3 children, George (Mary), Irma (deceased) (Ken Kerdil deceased), and Ursula (Anthony Kernaghan). She will be missed by her sister Marysia (George Orzchowski), her children, her 7 grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, and her Polish friends and comrades.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff at Eaux Claires Extendicare for their compassionate care.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish 11485 106 Street, and an interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, followed by fellowship and a luncheon at the Polish Hall 10960 104 Street.
