The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Bobby McCarley can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Old Pal

I've know B.D. since 1960 when we were in Rookle School at the Dallas Fire Department Training Center on Records Crossing Road.  After Rookie School we'd run into each other from time to time.  He worked at Central Freight off duty as I did for a while.

Later on, when we retired, some of the guys got togethe and started a RV travel club and I'd get to see B.D. about 3 or 4 times a year.

I always enjoyed talking with him.  We found out that each of us had worked for the Austin Bridge Company before joining the Fire Department.  My Dad worked for the Company for many years.  We found out that, altough we never worked together, we boh knew a lot of men who worked for Austin Bridge.

I always enjoyed recalling our times with the Austin Bridge Company, Central Freight Lines, and The Dallas Fire Department.  I'll miss him a lot.
