The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Desiree Dickens
Condolence: I had the honor and pleasure of being Mr.Brown's nurse at The Brazos. He was the biggest sweetheart with a heart of gold. Always had a funny joke to tell me when he sat in the hall visiting with one and all. I can't believe he's left us, but I know he's in heaven entertaining the angels and making sure everyone is feeling at home. I love you, Mr.Brown.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers now and in the days ahead. While I did not know him personally, he sounds like an amazing man that will be missed greatly.

Condolence From: Shawna Sibley
Condolence: I was so sad to hear of Mr. Browns passing when I opened the paper this morning to find out when another residents funeral was going to be held.
This was a resident who would always say that Mr. Brown was the sweetest man in the world. Mr. Brown would help this other resident at meal times by getting him a apron to wear while he ate-a small thing to most but a big gesture of love that he showed for the people who became his friends. I loved Mr. Brown so much. Somehow he always knew when I needed a encouraging word to make it a better day. He brought so much happiness this past year to everyone who met him.
All my love,
Shawna Sibley-his former Activity Director at the BOW

Condolence: I would like to offer my condolences to the family. Mere words cannot express the grief that comes from losing a dear loved one to death. What can give us a measure of comfort is the Bibles promises of the day when sickness and death will be no more. Such words can hopefully ease the pain you all are experiencing at this time of sorrow. May the God of ALL comfort keep you enduring now and in the days to come. And may happy memories warm your hearts. – Revelation 21:3-5; 2 Corinthians 1:2-4
