I met Bill when he was in charge of transportation at Rowe and I was working for a company that transported furniture. I called on Bill and he could not have been any nicer. Bill and I were complete opposites when I first met him. Bill was in his 50's and I was in my 20's. Bill was from the country and I was from the city (Chicago). I moved way too fast and Bill moved at just the right pace. Early on, I visited Bill at his office one time (me foolishly dressed in a suit and tie) to talk about a new project Bill had for me to handle. He made sure the meeting was late in the day so that I would have to fly back out the next day. I offered to take him to dinner after the meeting and instead, he took me to a spot on a small river close to work and we fished for a bit. Definitely the best business meeting ever. I will always remember Bill as a kind person. He will be missed.
