Obituary for James S. "Jim" Carter Jr.
James S. Carter Jr., 78, of Merritt Island, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 12, 2018. He was born on October 31, 1939 in Goshen Alabama to the late James Sr. and Ruth Carter.
Jim was a humble Auburn graduate; with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and retired from the space center after 36 years of dedication to Space. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 45 years Bonnie in 2013.
He loved traveling too far off places, but could never find more joy, then when he shared a seat with his beautiful wife Bonnie down beside the river.
Jim was given, the gift, of a kidney transplant in 1985 and was Blessed to have so many memories with his family including his sisters Sandy and Caroline growing up on his parents farm.
Survivors include his daughters Karen and Vanessa, son Jeff, son-in-law Bob, and his cherished grandchildren, Jasmine, Jason, Kirstin, Jack, and Lauren.
