Obituary for Gloria E. Lees

Gloria E. Lees, 93, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on February 28, 1924, a daughter of the late Phillip and Irene Sisskin. Mrs. Lees was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Louis Lees on November 26, 2002.

Gloria is survived by two sons: Dr. Robert Lees and wife Jody Hall of AZ and IL, and Mark Lees of Cincinnati, OH; a step-daughter, Gloria Schnur of Huntington, NY; a sister, Marlene Serkin of Vestal, NY; two granddaughters: Randi Jones and husband Richard of Los Angeles, CA, and Caren Neile and husband Thomas of Boca Raton, FL; and two great-grandchildren: Rebecca Abraham and husband Alex of Hermosa Beach, CA, and Samuel Jones of Los Angeles, CA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband Gloria was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Bernstein.

Gloria was a secretary for Maidenform, Inc in New Jersey and later for Clarksburg Iron and Steel, Inc where she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Tree of Life Congregation and was a Past President of Sisterhood of Tree of Life and Hadassah for 20 years. Gloria never knew a stranger and enjoyed socializing with those around her.

Family and friends will be received for visitation at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 7 until 9pm. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 10am with Rabbi Joseph Hample presiding. Interment will follow at the Jewish Cemetery in Bridgeport, WV. It is requested that in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution in memory of Gloria be made to a charity of your choice.
