The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sue Gatewood can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Connie Lattoz

I lost two aunts this week, Aunt Jo in New Braunfels, and now Aunt Sue in Mineola; they were the last two surviving siblings of my mom and it is painful to lose them. Aunt Sue was one of a kind, always hospitable, ready to serve you a meal, or take you to church with her. As a child, I watched her work so hard in the fields, but also saw her direct her large family in making beds, sweeping floors, and cooking meals. They gave me many a lesson in making beds, but I never seemed to achieve quite what she expected of me. But she and Uncle Doug were extremely good to me and my brother, treating us as though we were one of theirs. She came from a long line of hard workers and did so without complaint. You will be missed by all of us, Aunt Sue; but especially by your precious family. We all loved you and never liked to see you suffer with your lung problems. Now you are breathing free and easy, dancing with Jesus. I would have loved seeing your reunion with your sweet husband, parents, and siblings. Until we see you again, rest in peace with your Savior. Love, Connie
