Obituary for Elizabeth V. Marr (Moralez)

Elizabeth V. Marr, age 87, died at home on January 16, 2018 from natural causes after having lived a full and productive life. Born June 23, 1930 in Pompeys Pillar, Montana, Liz was the eldest of 15 children born to Gonsalo and Carmen Moralez. She married Robert Paul Marr and from this union had two sons, Paul Marr (deceased) and Cere John Marr.
“Lizard”, as she was affectionately called by her family, worked hard throughout her life to ensure that her family was provided for. She worked for the Northern Hotel for 38 years while usually working at a second job. But next to her love for her family her summer months were spent in her vegetable garden and tending to her beautiful flowers, just like her mom. That was instantly obvious to all that saw her yard. Since her retirement in early 2010 she spent all of her time in the yard taking care of her flowers and vegetables. Her flowers grew bigger and more beautiful each year. If you ever wanted to find her, that’s where she would be from sunup to sundown.
Her winter months meant spending countless hours making her beautiful quilts. If you have one of her quilts, treasure it because it was made with loving, caring hands. And then we can’t forget her love for her pets, Rosie, Tralfas, Cinni, Poco, and yes, Chispas aka, Kat. She loved them all.
Survivors include her son, Cere John Marr (Stephanie), adopted grandsons, Mike and Morrison Davies and Alfredo Meseguer, her brothers Gonsalo Morales, Jr. (Doris), Julio Morales (Robin), and Jim Morales, her sisters Abbie Quanbeck (Bob), Carmen Medina, Emily Akins (Gary), Linda Logan (Charlie), and Julie Brown (Terry), and numerous nephews and nieces.
Liz was preceded in death by her father, Gonsalo Moralez, her mother, Carmen Moralez, her son, Paul Marr, her brothers, Stany Morales (Delta), Lupe Morales (Remi), and Cere Morales (Arden), her sisters, Adeline Halverson (Glen), and Paula Schieno (Sam).
A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2018. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 24. Both services will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 226 Wicks Lane, Billings, MT 59105.
Liz will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Ballantine, MT. A reception will be held following the interment at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at 16 South Corner 1 Road in Ballantine. You will be forever in our hearts.
