William Martin “Bill” Williamson, Sr., 87 of Macon, March 19, 1930-January 21, 2018. Services held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Gary Berrier will officiate. Visitation Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. till service time at the funeral home.
Bill was born in Monroe County, the son of the late James and Mary Coulon Williamson. He resided in Macon but Lake Oconee is where his heart was, he loved spending time with family, friends, and fishing. He loved sharing his prize tomatoes with everyone. He was a graduate of Monticello High in 1948. He moved to Macon where he met and married his bride, Mae, of 62 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a serviceman with Atlanta Gas Light Company for 43 years, during which time he installed the 1,000,000 gas meter. He was a Master Mason Macon Lodge #5.
Bill was preceded in death by his son; William Martin Williamson, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Gussie Mae Williamson, Children: Roy Glynn (Beth), Michael Terry (Yvonne), Timothy Wade (Jenny), Patricia W. Meservey (John). Daughter-in-law; Beth Williamson. Fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
