VANDERKLOK – Janine Nanette (Burger) VanderKlok, age 87, of Comstock Park, went to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, in the comfort of her own home with her family by her side on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Claribel Burger; brothers, Bill Burger and Jim Burger. Janine will be lovingly missed by her husband of 67 years, Jack; children, Bill (Regina) VanderKlok, Margaret (Kurt) Bouchard, Tom (Suzie) VanderKlok, Janine (Bill) Hill; grandchildren, Billy, Andy, Joshua, Sarah, Michael, Kelli, Kristoffer, Daniel, Trevor, Austin; great-grandchildren, Mason, Jack, Mckenna, Everett, Elijah; and many brother and sister-in-laws. In Janine's younger years she worked at Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator and subsequently chose to stay home to raise her children. Janine was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Easter Seals and Bethany Christian Services. She was employed by Meijer corporate office as the “Plant Lady”, until enjoying retirement to Florida in the winter and Silver Lake in the summer. Janine was a member of Trinity Congregational Church. The family extends their thanks to nurse Lisa of Spectrum Health Hospice for her gentle kindness and compassion. The Funeral Service will be offered on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, with celebrant Pastor Izzy Young from Trinity Congregational Church officiating. Private interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Janine to Spectrum Health Hospice or Trinity Congregational Church.
