Anthony J. Meduri,91, a lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away with his family by his side on January 25, 2018. Anthony was born August 6, 1926 in Greenwich to the late Demetrio and Josephine Chila Meduri. On December 30, 1950 Anthony married the love of his life the late Elvira Meduri, who predeceased him in 2009.
Anthony was a proud veteran of the United States Army, upon his honorable discharge he began a career as a machinist, first working for Edwards Inc followed by Jared Manufacturing. After his retirement he worked for Finch’s Pharmacy in Glenville, delivering prescriptions until he was 87. Anthony loved to bowl, play golf and work in his garden. His greatest passion was his family, always putting them first, he never missed his grandchildren’s sporting events or dance recitals or even a trip with his granddaughter to see her horse on a very cold Christmas Eve.
Anthony is survived by his loving daughter Deborah (William) Kuter of Hopewell Junction, NY. He is the loving Grandpa “Grumpy” to Anthony and Lindsay Kuter. Anthony was born into a large and loving family. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Peter & Dominick Maduri, Demetrio Meduri and sisters, Mary Burke & Josephine Chila. He is survived by his brother Paul Maduri, his sisters; Frances Tornatore, Phyllis Lanzaro and J. Paula Meduri. Anthony is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great -great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 1, 10 AM at St Paul Roman Catholic Church, 84 Sherwood Ave, Greenwich CT 06831. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of St. Joseph in Putnam Cemetery, Parsonage Rd. Greenwich CT. Friends and family may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd. #3 Greenwich CT on Wednesday, January 31st from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anthony’s favorite charity, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
