Life Story for Dennis A. Williams

Dennis A.  Williams
Dennis Autry Williams, 63, of Indian Trail, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 27, 2018.

Dennis was born on April 27, 1954, to Thomas Autry Williams and the late Ethel Hairr Williams. He grew up in Dunn, North Carolina and graduated from Midway High School where he lettered in many sports including football, basketball, and baseball. Dennis attended the University of North Carolina -Wilmington, was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation.

He had a career in pharmaceutical sales and earned many national awards as leading sales representative.

Dennis married the love of his life, Cathy Cundiff Williams, and they had 23 wonderful years together.

He had a deep love of animals and had many fur babies including Lucy and Sampson who went to heaven with him January 27. His many interests included playing the drums and performing with several bands and friends, collecting classic cars with his brother, being a fierce Tar Heel fan, and spending time at the beach with family and dear friends.

Dennis and Cathy became famous for their annual 4th of July pool parties. Dennis was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one. He was a loving and loyal husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

In addition to his wife,his immediate family includes his father, Thomas Autry Williams of Dunn, NC; brother and sister-in-law Dr. Larry and Cindy Williams of Hickory, NC; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Beth and Barry Alexander, Kim and Dan Jordan, Michelle and Justin Hilts, Mandy and Jerry Burns; uncles and aunts Graham and Amily Hairr, Carolyn Hairr, Joseph and Joanne Williams; many dear cousins and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved like his own.

The family will gather to receive extended family and friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews, NC. A celebration of life service will immediately follow.
