Condolence: I had hoped to make it on Saturday, but bu I am not as mobile as I used to be. The times I had with Joe to help Lakeshore Players stay viable and grow were very special. He was an outstanding leader of people and very compassionate. His vibrant presence will always be missed. I am a better person because of his presence. I know there is sadness in your family now that he is finally gone, but the impact he had on those around him will live on. Thank you for sharing him with me and the world.

Condolence: To the Tamillo Children and Grandchildren,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad/grandfather. I tried to remain in contact with him but lost that connection the past couple of years.

I thank God that I had this person in my life. As a young boy (runner), Coach Tamillo taught me so many important things...the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work, persistence, etc. etc. Those traits remain with me throughout these past 50 years.

After graduating, attending college, and starting my professional career, I always made it a point to visit Coach when I returned to WBL. He was such a caring, positive person.

There are so many stories that so many of us will have. If I can contribute just 5% to society what Coach Tamillo did I would be a happy man.

Thanks for sharing him with me, and so many other young people.

Condolence: My sympathies to the Tamillo family. Mr. Tamillo was my teacher for at least one class at WBSH. I had great respect for him. He is the English teacher who tried to explain passive voice to me, a strange and foreign concept! I could not help but think that he was explaining something which I should have learned before, and did not. I understand now, and think of him whenever I hear a secretary's report which reads, "A good time was had by all."

Condolence: Dear Tamillo family: I was a student, a (poor) cross country runner, and a (pretty decent) debater for your Dad at WBHS from 1971-1974. He was a great man and great inspiration, who taught me that athletics and debate were not inconsistent ambitions between body and brain, between heart and intellect. He was kind enough to support me when I had failed and push me through to the end when I was succeeding. His example kept me going through a 40 year career in trial law. Thank you for giving him to us--and let his soul return to the stars.
