Jon Wayne Freeburg, age 77, of Brainerd, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, at St. Cloud Hospital. Jon was born on September 25, 1940 in Minneapolis to Einar & Margaret (Lindbloom) Freeburg. He married Yvonne Freeburg on July 19, 1975 in Minneapolis. Jon served his country in the US Navy. He was a chef for 30 years at the Brainerd State Hospital.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Yvonne of Brainerd; daughter, Brooke Freeburg of Brainerd; stepsons: Todd (Gina) Smith of Little Falls, Trent Huckbody of Nevis and Shawn Huckbody of Cambridge; sister, Nancy Thompson of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Irene Freeburg of Minneapolis; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bruce and Dale; sister, Peggy Anderson.
Funeral service for Jon will be on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11AM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home – BRAINERD CHAPEL. Visitation will be on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4-7PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home – BRAINERD CHAPEL and one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, near Little Falls.
