Seventy years ago, Jim and I became classmates at Millersville State Teachers College. Sometime later, it was my pleasure to introduce Jim to Lucille Trimble, also a student at Millersville. Lucille and Jim, in turn, introduced me to Joyce Wade, a student nurse at Lancaster General Hospital. Thus evolved a lifelong friendship- one of trust, support, and love. In 1963, while a principal in Salem, NJ, Jim advised me that there was a principalship available for a new school under construction in his district, Centennial Schools. He strongly urged me to apply for the position. It was my good fortune to receive the appointment thus enabling me to join Jim and a group of ladies and gentlemen "second to none" with whom we remained until retirement. Jim's influence and interest in my well being personally and professionally over the years was not totally comprehended and appreciated until his passing, regretfully. Together, our families have celebrated many, many, happy occasions and together we have provided strength and support during times of grave distress. Good times, however, have far exceeded times of difficulty. Memories are a gift from God that death cannot destroy.
