Kennebunk
Margaret Mae West, 87 years, a resident of Kennebunk died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her residence after a long illness.
She was born in Kennebunk, ME on September 7, 1930, one of fifteen children born to Harry and Margaret (Brown) Coombs, and attended Kennebunk schools.
Margaret married Edgar Fred West and together they raised their two children, Edgar F. West, Jr. and Debra Ann (West) Day. Together they made their home on the Cat Mousam Road, where she enjoyed having coffee with her friends and entertaining her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Edgar F. West in 2008, a granddaughter, Lily Margaret Michaels and by all of her siblings.
Survivors include her son, Edgar Fred West, Jr. and a daughter Debra Ann Day, both of Kennebunk; two grandchildren, Brandye Michaels and her husband Josh of York and Eric Charles Day and his wife Wendy of California; and three great-grandchildren Owen Edgar Michaels, Eli Gabriel Day and Lea Erin Day.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery in the spring.
Should friends desire, donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, Volunteers Fund, 180 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074.
