Ramona  Malave
Ramona Malave, 64, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 07, 2018 at her home in Somerset, New Jersey.

Ms. Malave was born April 02, 1953 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico to the late Manuel and Vincenta (Rodriguez) Perez. Ramona immigrated to the US at a young age in New Brunswick, NJ and relocated to Chicago before settling in Somerset.

Ramona worked 20 years at St. Peter University Hospital in New Brunswick. She loved gardening and attending many trips to Atlantic City with her late sister Carmen. She was a wonderful cook and especially liked baking. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music. Ramona was known for her beautiful and contagious smile and her unwavering faith in God, even throughout her struggle with cancer. She was a loving mother, a caring sister and a compassionate grandmother and great grandmother. She was hardworking, kind, friendly, humble, funny, simple and grateful woman; she will be missed by many.

Ms. Malave is predeceased by her Brother, Danillo Perez and her sister, Carmen Colon.

She is survived by her daughters, Mayra Perez-Soto, Maribel Malave and Cynthia Rice; her grandchildren, Yomayra, Angel, Jonathan, Jossie, Marissa, Sabrina, Cassie and Ellie; her great grandson, Jadiel and four great granddaughters; her seven brothers and one sister and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street on Sunday, February 11th from 4-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 12th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in New Brunswick.
