Obituary for Delores C. Ucci

Delores C. Ucci
Delores C. Ucci passed into eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the age of 90, at her home in Yorktown Heights. She was born June 19, 1927 in White Plains, New York and was the daughter of Vincenzo and Mary Marano Caccavone. She was married to Fred Ucci in 1947 in White Plains, NY. Fred predeceased her on September 6, 2014.
Delores, or “Dee” as she was known, was a devoted mother and mentor to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife to Fred and always thought of others before herself. Dee had a strong faith. She gave generously and freely from her heart. She was a true role model and a proud member of the “Greatest Generation.”
A graduate of White Plains High School and The Berkeley School of New York, Dee was an Administrative Assistant employed by The Legal Offices of Rose and Hanson, and later The Bank of New York, retiring in 1992.
Dee is survived by sons Robert Ucci of Shrub Oak, New York, William Ucci and his wife Carol Hackmyer Ucci of New Paltz, New York and daughter Deborah Ferri and her husband David Ferri of Lagrangeville, New York; her nine grandchildren, Kristen Ucci, Allison Ucci, Michael Ferri, Emilie (Ferri) Collier, Rebecca Ferri, William Ferri, Daniel Ucci, Samantha Ucci and Jesse Ucci and her two great-grandchildren Spencer James Ucci and Cameron Matthew Collier. Dee is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters: Philomena (Jake) Bambace of White Plains, Mary (Ross) Bambace of New Port Richey, Florida, Eva (Mike) Demarsico of West Harrison and Antoinette McKinney of Denton, Texas.
A perfect day for Dee was a swim at the beach with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, followed by a game of bridge while listening to her favorite music. In her older years, she took up ping pong and pool. Dee’s greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness. She loved being surrounded by her family.
Dee’s funeral will be held at Mt. Carmel Church in White Plains, the church in which she was baptized, received her first Holy Communion, was confirmed, and married the love of her life.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Westchester & Putnam, 540 White Plains Rd. Suite 300, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
