Obituary for Joseph Guzzi

Joseph Guzzi, 86, a resident of Taylor died Thursday evening in the Moses Taylor Hospital under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice. His wife the former Doris Marie Reedy died in July 25, 1998.
He was born in Dunmore, the son of the late George and Anna Guzzi. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and a veteran of the United States Air force. Prior to retirement he had been employed by the Chamberlain Manufacturer for 47 years.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr., he also was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
The family would like to thank Dr. Armando Sallavanti and Dr. Kathryn Sallavanti, Tom Mazur, and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Joanne for their kindness and compassion.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane Guzzi Sheridan (Paul), Taylor, their children, Ryan Paul Sheridan, Victoria Elizabeth Sheridan and Andrew Joseph Sheridan; many nieces and nephews; a son, Joseph Guzzi.
He was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore. Cremation took place at the Hickory Crematory, arrangements under the care of Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc.
