Obituary for Carmela Theresa Iommazzo (Fuino)

Carmela Iommazzo, 95, of East Rutherford, was born in Jersey City on September 10, 1922 and passed away on February 21, 2018. She was a waitress well into her 70’S. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Perry Iommazzo, and her brother Francesco Fuino. Carmela is survived by her son Robert J.Iommazzo and his wife Mary Ann, her daughter Deborah Mamatz and her partner Thomas Flynn. She is also the cherished grandmother of Robert M. Iommazzo and his wife Dana, April Torrisi and her husband Josh. She has three great granddaughters, Hudson, Carolina and Juliette. Carmela is also survived by her identical twin sister Rose Prestia, and her husband Sal, her sisters Antoinette Antoniotti and Marie Veccia. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 on Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at St. Joseph’s R. C. Church in East Rutherford, departing the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Followed by entombment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are greatly appreciated.
