Obituary for Shirley A Hunter

Mrs. Shirley Ann Byrd Hunter, 55, was called home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was a daughter of Annie E. Rosemond Byrd and Arthur Lewis Durham and adopted daughter of the late Clarence H. Byrd.

Shirley was a faithful member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and attended Rutledge and Greenville Technical College. She loved people, never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She loved her family very much. She was a former employee of Laurel Baye Nursing Home until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her adopted father, Clarence H. Byrd; a grandson, Martez Hunter; and two brothers, Anthony Eugene Byrd, Sr., and Clarence H. Byrd, Jr.

She leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories, her husband, Aundra Hunter, Sr., of the home; her mother, Annie E. Rosemond Byrd, of Greenville; her father, Arthur Lewis Durham of Greenville; daughters, Melanie (Christopher) Evans, of North Carolina and Kacina (Antonio) Glenn of Greenville; sons, Aundra Hunter, Jr., and Martice (Lekecia) Hunter Sr., both of Greenville; a sister, Melissa (Briss) Sullivan of Greenville; a brother, Philander (Kenya) Byrd of Greenville; eighteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
