Obituary for Patty Jean Burk

Patty Jean  Burk
Patty Jean Burk, 91, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Brunswick at Longstown. She was the wife of the late James Samuel Burk.

Patty was born December 20, 1926 in the town of Pleasureville and was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Snyder) Innerst.

She was a member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church for 70+ years and enjoyed singing in the choir. Patty retired from Wolfgang Candy Company after 30 years of employment.

She is survived by two sons, James R. Burk of Fort Pierce FL and Gregory S. Burk and his wife, Sandra of Dover; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren. She’ll be sadly missed by all, including her favorite black poodle friend “Pepper”.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Peggy Brenner, Margaret Schroll, and Edna Melhorn and three brothers, Morgan, Clair and Lloyd Innerst.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York with her pastor, the Rev. Frank Miller, officiating. There will be no viewing. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

The family wishes to express and extend thanks to the staff at the Brunswick at Longstown for the excellent care they provided to our mother during her stay along with Homeland Hospice.
