Margaret “Margo” R. (Callinan) Marden peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the age of 86. Her husband, Charles H. Marden preceded her in death in 1987. Margaret was born in Bangor, ME on February 26, 1932, daughter of the late William and Rose (Toole) Callinan. She attended St. John the Baptist High School, graduating in 1949.
At age 17 she enrolled at the former St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her B.S. in Nursing. Margaret dedicated her life to caring for those in need. She spent many years working as a R.N. at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, Framingham Union Hospital, as a nursing supervisor at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, and ending her career at Wellesley College where she oversaw the campus infirmary.
During this time Margaret and Charles lived in the Marlborough and Framingham area where they raised their family. After retirement Margaret lived 12 years in Northborough where she was active in St. Rose of Lima Parish and the Northborough Senior Center. In 2016 she relocated to the home of her son in Shrewsbury. An enthusiastic sports fan, she enjoyed following the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and especially the Bruins. She enjoyed traveling and keeping up with her children and grandchildren’s activities. Above all, Margaret was very dedicated to her faith.
Among her survivors Margaret leaves four sons, William Marden, wife Carol and their children Bobby, Samantha and Kathleen of Lewes, Deleware; Charles Marden, wife Karen and their children Michael, Christopher, and Andrew of Shrewsbury; Robert Marden, wife Nancy and their children Danny and Holly; and Stephen, wife Christine and their children Keith, Danielle, and Matthew of Millbury; nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Margo Truett of Columbus, GA. She was predeceased by a brother William F. Callinan.

A calling hour will be held between 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, March 7th, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. A private burial will take place in Newton Cemetery, Newton.
