Michael A.  LaScala
Michael A. LaScala, 57, of Mount Penn, passed away, Monday March 19, 2018. He was the husband of Donna L. (Ennis) LaScala. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late B. Michael and Helen (Fontana) LaScala. Michael graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1978 and attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. He was very involved with setting up for St. Catharine's Bazaar and was a member of Central Catholic Boosters. Michael spent his career as an electrician with Local #743 IBEW and loved working with his friends and being with his family. He was a beloved husband, father and pop pop to his wife Donna, son Michael J. husband of Allyssa of Mt. Penn, daughter Heather L. wife of Brandon Zabinski of Wyomissing; and grandchildren Sara and Vincent Zabinski. Also surviving are two brothers Anthony husband of Jackie of Muhlenberg Township and Phillip husband of Colleen of Reading. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday March 21, 2018, from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm in the Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Mt. Penn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 22, 2018, at 10:00 am at St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.--Exeter Township, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 2427 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
