Obituary for Barbara Ruth Green (Childs)
Barbara Green, 74, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, March 9th at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 10th at the chapel.
Barbara was born on September 12, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to Beryl and Reba (Foley) Childs. She worked in various factories over the years and in 1962 she married Hardy Green. In their 48 years of marriage they raised 5 children. In her spare time she liked to do adult coloring books, read her bible, listen to gospel and cook. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Barbara will be remembered by her children Diana Daily and husband Dearl of Richmond, MO, Robert Green and wife Michelle of Kansas City, MO, Dollie Rodgers and fiancé Paul Jones of Kansas City, MO, Wanita St. Peter and husband Roger of Belton, MO; 5 siblings; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; plus several other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Misty Lee Rodgers, her son Hardy Victor Green, and husband Hardy “Hot Dog” Green.
