Obituary for Jennie Lee Stephens (Dalton)

Jennie Lee Stephens (Dalton)
Jennie Lee Dalton Stephens, 86, of Burleson, Tx, moved to her Heavenly Mansion on 9 March 2018. She was surrounded by family.
Jennie was born on 19 April 1931, daughter of Elbert Louis Dalton (Big Daddy) and Jessie Mae Hughes Dalton (Little Nana).
She attended Mineral Wells High School. Jennie worked as the CFO for a leading automobile group until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, was excellent at piddling and most of all, loved being with her family!
Jennie was blessed with a large and loving family. She had four daughters, whom she adored, before adding her bonus children when she married her love, Clyde, in 1977. Each family member was “her favorite” and we all take the title very seriously.
Jennie is preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Jessie; sister Dorothy Marie Wolff (Aunt Dot) and bonus son, Mike Stephens.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband of 40 years, Clyde Stephens; children, Stella Slay of Burleson, Margaret Hampton and husband Merlin of Burleson, Dottie Draper of Benbrook, Jennie Jacobs of Crowley, Steve Stephens and wife Kathy of Kennesaw, GA, Debbie Underwood and husband Mike of Fort Smith, AR, Kathy Burnett of Haltom City and Mary Mieth of Fort Worth; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua, TX on Monday 12 March 2018 at 6:00-8:00 pm.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday 13 March 2018 at 11:00 am at Lu Queen Cemetery, near Graford, TX. Officiating will be grandson, Mike Leeper.
The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Place of Burleson for your care and love of our Wife, Mom and Granny! Also, thank you to Community Hospice for your care and support during Jennie’s final days.
