To the family and friends of April, please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of April. As an avid cyclist here in Abilene and a member of a local cycling club (Steamboat Cycling Club), we are saddened to hear that April died as a result of this incident with a motor vehicle. There is a national event called Ride of Silence that is held the 3rd Wednesday in May each year (this year May 16th). Our cycling club sponsors this event that brings awareness to the community of those who use bicycles as transportation and to honor those who have lost their lives while on a bicycle. April's name will be recognized and honored at this next event May 16th that will begin at 6:40 pm from McMurry University. At 7 pm cyclist will ride a 6 mile route IN SILENCE to honor these individuals. Again, our cycling community is saddened by this loss and we all pray for your peace and comfort.
