Condolence From: Bret, Gaynell, & Brice Martin
Condolence: Marty. May prayers be with the Page family. In this unexpected time of grief at the loss of Mike, please have solace in the fact that through his love, caring, leadership, and mentoring, Mike touched and influenced a lot of lives. His works live on through those he touched, especially those in scouting. At the end of Cub Scouts, Brice was ready to be done with scouts. I made a deal with him. Just one year in the Boy Scouts and if he still didn’t like it, he could quit. I was hoping to set him up for success and knew that Boy Scouts would be more exciting than Cubs. Because of Mike’s leadership and mentoring, Brice did stay in scouts. And earned his Eagle. The leadership influence that he gave Derek and Josh created a wonderfully successful Troop, that strives today because of the foundation that Mike and others before him created. Even after scouts, Mike continued to mentor the boys. We were so proud that Mike hired Brice for his pre-college summer job. It was Brice’s first job and Mike took a chance on Brice and helped him through it. To that I am extremely grateful. Nothing can compare with the loss means to you, Caitlin, and Josh are going through. But I did want you to know that we grieve with you, but also celebrate what Mike has meant to the Martin family. If there is anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Love, Bret, Gaynell, & Brice.

Condolence: I graduated high school with Mike. I thought a lot of him. He was a nice person. Many Monroe High School memories are on my mind since we have lost three classmates in the same week. His family members are in my prayers.

Condolence: Mr. Page Became my scout master at troop 53 shortly after I first moved to Waxhaw. Under his leadership I always felt welcome in the new environment. He brought so much to our troop and is responsible for some of the most transformative trips that I was allowed to take as a young man. My heart goes out to his family, especially his son Josh who I considered one of my role models as a young scout. I'm keeping the Page family in my prayers. So sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Beautiful obituary. We were recipients of Mike’s generous heart in scouting and are stunned and saddened by his death. Sending love to you all and the assurance that he will always be with you. Having lost my own father when he was just 57, I can attest that all the people you will love in your lives will somehow know the essence and love of your father through your own hearts. My deepest condolences. Xoxo Rebecca Godby
