The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Hill can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Wisdom

I had the pleasure of meeting Rich through my employment at Friendly Honda. Soon after becoming a service writer, Rich and I became the closing advisors.(Staying 1/2 hr. Later to close the doors for the evening) Rich would often stay later than he was required to make sure things were ready for the following day. Many times I would stay behind to chat with him about so many things I can't even remember them all. I would often ask his opinion of difficulties I might experience at work or personal life. Rich was several years older than I but was able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Often we would share our spiritual beliefs on things. Some we would agree on and some we would not. Nevertheless, he always respected my point of view. I remember one particular night that He and I stayed late and got to talking about how I was dealing with a family situation that had me questioning so many things; including my faith. Rich always listened and quietly shared his insight and experience which I would thank him for but I don't feel he ever knew how much. We talked for about an hour and I began feeling much better. I thought I had taken enough of his time and we decided it was time to go home. We walked outside into a cold stinging rain. Walking to our cars we struck up conversation again about my situation. Before I knew it, he had spent another 1/2 hour with me in miserable weather. Finally we headed home. That night, Rich went home and researched something he thought was relevant to my situation and printed a long article and poem for me which he gave to me the following day. I say this long and winding story,as most of my stories do,because it displayed the very true genuine and unique person he was. Compassion beyond compare and generosity rarely seen from others. I will miss you my friend. I hope you have finally found an answer to many of the questions we shared. I truly believe we will meet again just not today. Not today. Rickey B.
