Earl Little,
Oh, how he enjoyed the OU Sooners. His knowledge of facts and history of the Sooners is unmatched. I remember going to his house in Del City one day. By being a bricklayer, he had made a brick inlay of the OU logo on his chimney inside his den for people to see. Another time, I went to see him when he lived on W. Meridian. He had from the floor to the ceiling 8x10 picture frames of past and present Sooner players and also NY Yankee players. He had these pictures in every room, even the kitchen and I believe the bathroom. You would have to see it to believe it. I often thought that this indeed would have been a great sports story for one of the local tv stations. Besides loving the Sooners, he was an outstanding football player at Sulphur while in High School. He played halfback, and was he ever good. He also was a super Baseball player as well. An all around excellent athlete. I can still remember his Dad would come to his Friday night high school games and watch him from the back of someones pickup truck. His dad had polio and was parallelized through out most of Earls growing up days, but had a heart of Gold and did not like to miss his son playing. These memories I share are in-bedded in my being since I am his double cousin. What a person to chat with and share moments....But I must say, all of the above is secondary........ His love for his family and most importantly God Above. He was truly a Godly man and we will all miss him greatly. No one needs to be concerned where Earl Ray Little is as I speak. He is in presence of his Heavenly Father. I thank God for the time I have know and have been related to him. I can hear him now..........
Go Sooners
