Edward L. Caswell of Scranton died Wednesday April 18, 2018 at home following an illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Elaine Baisel Caswell for whom he acted as a loving caregiver during her courageous battle with MS.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Harry and Alberta Dickinson Caswell.
He was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church. He had a love for animals, music, and corny jokes.
The family would like to thank all of his caregivers, including Jean Kieper, the whole staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, especially Mary Ellen, Laurie, and Missy.
Surviving are, three sons, Edward L. and wife Mindy, Hallstead, Michael and wife Sandra, South Abington Township, David and wife Denise, Springbrook Township; Two daughters, Patricia Caswell, Anna Ruiz and husband Angelo; a brother, Robert; grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Edward, Christopher, Michael R. Robin, Allison, Jerry, Christina, Darlena, Sarah, Michael, Joseph, Nicole, Josephine, Arlene, Tiffani, Melvin; nieces and nephews. He is also surivived by every soul who's day he brightened by telling a joke. He firmly believed the world would be a better place if more people laughed.
He was preceded in death by two sons, John Caswell; and Eddie Caswell; a daughter, Donna Marie Caswell; a great grandson, Phoenix; four brothers, Harry Ernest, Joseph, and William; sister Patricia..
Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. with Rev. Michael Bealla Pastor of the Elm Park United Methodist Church as officiating clergy. Interment will follow in the Dunmore Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd. South Abington Township, Pa. 18411.
