The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sherwood Bridges can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Tribute to Sherwood

I remember my first introduction to the family was when Sherwood and Anne Marie were serving their mission in Mexico.  I proposed to his daughter Jenifer and felt I was pretty safe in doing so, until Sherwood sent his oldest daughter Terilyn from Tennessee to see if I was good enough for one of his only “true daughters”.  I must have received a passing grade from the professors when Terilyn reported to him that the chemistry or DNA was in working order.  Then the day came when I got to meet Sherwood and AnneMarie and soon realized that Sherwood love to stir the pot.  That only lasted for a short time when Anne Marie gave him the look.  I soon found favor with Sherwood when he said my five children and I were some of the blessing that came from their mission.

Sherwood was a good example of a worthy priesthood holder that I never had while growing up. Thank you for your example and the Priesthood blessing you gave me before your passing.  I will always remember those tender moments that we got to spend with you just after conference. Thank you. Until we meet again as a family.

Love your son-in-law

Wayne

P.S. Sherwood, I am still taking care of your daughter as much as she will let me!  One independent women :)
