Dustin (Dustman) Tintinger
Our brother, our spouse, our friend, our son, passed away on Monday morning. Dusty (Dustman) Tintinger died suddenly due to a lifetime battle with diabetes. After being diagnosed as a sophomore in high school, Dustman dealt with monitoring blood sugars on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the highs and lows are the downfall of any diabetic.
Dusty was a free spirit from the day he was born, living life with no holds barred. Anyone who knew Duster understood his motto to ‘Dance like there’s no floor’. Born in Helena on February 11, 1968, Dusty was raised on south Benton Street. Hawthorne School gave him his start and the Independent Record gave him his work ethic, Dustman was the hardest working man we know.
Duster attended Hawthorne elementary, CR Anderson middle school and Capital High. As an all-conference center in 1985, Dusty helped start the Bruin winning tradition. After leaving Helena after graduation, Dust spent the next 32 years in Billings. He worked at American Welding and Gas for over 20 years. As an avid bowler, (a 300 game in 2010), he met his wife, Kathy, in bowling league. Kat and Dust have spent the last 16 years together. His passion for football (particularly the Oakland Raiders), music (rock and punk), the Yellowstone Boat Float, and Tiny’s Golf Tournament, led to the many friends across Montana.
Dustman is survived by his wife Kathy, Mom (Katie), and Dad (Wes), brother Ben and sister in law Tracey, niece Jaylen, and nephews Jon, Sam and Trey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Tiny’s Tavern in Billings on Sunday at 2:00. Burial services will be held in Helena on Friday, May 11th (time to be determined).
