The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Kreisberg can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I worked with Michael teaching Humanities at UM for 10 years -- from 1989 through summer 1999. Michael's intellect, humor, gentleness, and ethics lived were so keenly important to me then, and still through today. I have missed him a great deal since I moved away (to teach elsewhere) in 1999. I have not found a colleague or a friend that could even come close to replacing him. He would be abashed to know I call him a role-model, but indeed, he was/is. I will fly back to Missoula for the June 3 gathering to honor him and his life. It will be good to be among others who cared for and loved him.

Condolence: What a beautiful soul and generous citizen graced our lives! I met Michael when we were opposing the baseball stadium being built where it now is. He came to comfort me when my husband was killed in '04. I created a large flower garden in Mel's memory, and will put in a plant to honor Michael this spring. My sincere sympathies to his family.

Condolence: I met Michael(and Misha) while walking my dog at the DNRC tree nursery in Missoula. He was truly a nice person who I saw regularly. I walked there today and felt his absence. I am glad he passed while doing what he seemd to love. Many will miss him.
